Skyline Church has a responsibility to warn its members of false teachers who seek to lead Christians astray from the purity and simplicity found in Christ. The leadership at Skyline might respond to this event by claiming they are not endorsing these teachers but simply renting out their facilities. However, in actuality, they are providing a platform for these speakers to present their destructive doctrine. Also, the fact that Jim Garlow is one of the featured speakers at this conference confirms that he is a supporter of this movement.
This page is meant to act as a caution to the body of Christ in San Diego. This event is public and therefore the warning is public. Bill Johnson, Heidi Baker, Todd White and Winnie and Georgian Banov are well-known associates of the NAR, Word of Faith, and Prosperity Gospel driven movements. These leaders consider themselves to be present-day apostles and prophets who claim to govern the Church and give new divine revelation that is needed to set up God’s Kingdom on earth. A simple Google and YouTube search will reveal this. Please do not take our word for it, instead, do your own research to see if these things are true and hold your pastoral leadership accountable.
"This testimony is true. For this reason reprove them severely so that they may be sound in the faith, not paying attention to Jewish myths and commandments of men who turn away from the truth. To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but both their mind and their conscience are defiled. Speak the Truth in Love
These movements and false teachers might be completely new to you. We are simply attempting to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15). It's natural to be angry at first when you see what appears to be attacking. We would encourage you to read through our page of scriptures on discernment and compare the below teachings and practices to the Word of God.
God's Word commands and exhorts us to study the Scriptures to show ourselves approved (2 Tim 2:15), to contend for the faith which was once delivered to the saints (Jude 1:3), and to test the spirits (1 John 4:1). You might also find our resource page helpful.
